13 confirmed dead in sunken Iranian vessel

altBUSHEHR – An informed source on Saturday confirmed the deaths of 13 crew members of an Iranian vessel which sank in the Persian Gulf on Thursday. 

The crew members were Iranians, Ukrainians, and Indians, the source told the Mehr News Agency.

The vessel, named Kousha1, sank on Thursday in the Persian Gulf near the port city of Assalouyeh. The vessel was bound for Assalouyeh, but sank 15 nautical miles off the port city.

Reportedly, the vessel had been overloaded with passengers and cargo.
